There are many measurement parameters. Only length is measured by applying a straightedge. Current intensity, magnetic flux, mass and time as well as timeless beauty is measured differently. This does not negate the fact that they can be measured, this is expressed with the motif Akanthus a symbol for life and immortality. A hand engraving persists a lifetime and beyond.

The engraving on this silver medallion lost some parts and depth in the years of use. The concept sketch shows greyed what still existed and blue the complementation according to the customers request. Time spent completing 8 hours. Photo 3 to 5 show the finished engraving in different lights. A monogram was engraved on the rear.
My engravings are varnished on request, to safeguard them against moisture, bumps and scratches. When varnished no special care is needed but if the engraved object is exposed to moisture, it can be oiled to care for it and the engraving. If the engraving is placed or presented outdoors it should be cleaned once a year with soapy water and a rag.

As a beginning an agreement, in main part the craft, at the end joy, pride, and appreciation for the own creation. Workshops are held with one participant or in small groups of two. Price is 50€ per hour per person. Following is a selection of possible engravings:
The occasion for the workshop was a copper wedding anniversary. The engraving for bowtie and pendant was made during a full day. The engraved eagle can be done within two hours and can take longer if the contour is to be sawed out.
